Iron Horse Golf Course is a Public, 18 hole golf course located in North Richland Hills, Texas.
Iron Horse Golf Course first opened for play in 1989. Richard M. Phelps designed the course.
Iron Horse Golf Course is one of Texas's top-rated, public championship golf courses. The course traverses through a solid hardwood forest, over meandering creeks, and under a railroad trestle.
Iron Horse Golf Course gets its name from the railroad that cuts through the property. The clubhouse looks like an old train depot, and there are three cabooses on the course that serve as restrooms or a snack bar.
While only 6,580 from the tips, the yardage is deceiving. Both par 5s typically require three shots. There are eight par 4s that measure over 400 yards, including the #1 handicap hole, #3 (462-yards).
Par for the course is 70. From the back tees, the course plays to 6,580 yards. From the forward tees, the course measures 5,083 yards. The longest hole on the course is # 4, a par-5 that plays to 543 yards. The shortest hole on the course is # 5, a par-3 that plays to 150 yards from the back tees.
Watch out for # 3, a 462-yard par-4 challenge, and the #1 handicap hole on the course. The easiest hole at Iron Horse Golf Course is # 14, a 165 yard par-3.

Greens were rough from recent aereation. Helpful, friendly staff. Convenient location with good practice facilities. Tough course if your wild off the tee.

If you want a true test for your game, this is it. Love the layout and highly recommend it. You will most likely lose at least a couple of balls so be prepared.

In pretty decent shape. Greens were good and tricky. Layout is tight and requires consistently straight shots. A lot of holes cross each other and might seem dangerous to golfers as they pass tees on other holes. We had a discount ticket for this course so its a good value for the dollars we spent. Pretty consistent with other courses in the area in the same price range.

Short, tight and a tough test. Requires precision both off the tee and with approach shots. Challenging track. Greens were very good.

Played Iron Horse with Avid Golfer coupon - $22.xx - EXCELLENT DEAL. Course is tough from the tips - very challenging layout - good condition - sand traps in good form; although noticed a few areas/fairways overwatered - muddy. Course is fighting ongoing construction on Loop 820; course perservers. Excellent staff and smiling cart girl. Played in 2.5 hrs - always a PLUS!
